Ecological Niche


An ecological niche is a small select habitat where species adapt (  Many of these ecological niches are determined by food sources.  For example, in New Zealand, the kiwi bird lives on the ground and survives on species such as worms while living in a habitat dominated heavily by mammals (  The leaves a niche environent for the kiwi bird where it doesn't have heavy competition for food.
