Antibiotics

An antibiotic that acts on a wider range of bacteria over narrow spectrum antibiotics

Why would they be better?[]

A broad spectrum antibiotic is better for upper respiratory infections due to the various types of bacteria that can infect those areas.  Using one can ensure that the bacteria is killed.

Overall Resistance with antibiotics[]

There is a worry about resistance and whether broad spectrum or narrow spectrum is better.  Scientists agree that it's not one over the other, but rather how they are used - the dosage, length of time they are used, the amount used, and reducing the transmission in general.
