Parasitism is when one organism benefits and the other is harmed. The organisms can evolve together since they can have a long a species specific relationship. One organism is the host which is harmed. The parasite does not want to kill the host because it wants to continue to live off of it. Parasitism can cause competition, changes in the host's behavior, and can change a species populations. []
